HOW MUCH DIFFERENCE ONE WORD MAKES!

Written by Bruce Shaulis 11/20/2017

James, a servant of GOD 'AND' (*) of the LORD JESUS CHRIST, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad, greeting.
JAMES 1:1

Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, 'AND' of the Son, 'AND' of the Holy Ghost:
MATTHEW 28:19

If we apply the SAME rule of grammar to JAMES 1:1 as MANY do to MATTHEW 28:19 to prove that there is a COUNCIL of SEPARATE PERSONS who serve as the ONE GOD IN THE GODHEAD, we would have to come to the conclusion that Jesus is NOT GOD because, using THIS definition, James would be creating an ANTITHESIS between GOD and JESUS in this verse. Of course we KNOW that JESUS IS GOD ALMIGHTY IN THE FLESH according to His own testimony and that of His prophets (REVELATION 1:8, JOHN 10:30, JOHN 14:10, COLOSSIANS 1:15, HEBREWS 1:3, ISAIAH 9:6. JOHN 8:58, MATTHEW 28:18, 1 TIMOTHY 3:16, ISAIAH 42:13, JOHN 10:30, etc.)

(*) STRONG'S EXHAUSTIVE CONCORDANCE

2532 kaí (the most common NT conjunction, used over 9,000 times) – AND (ALSO), very often, MOREOVER, EVEN, INDEED (the context determines the exact sense).

[After 2532 (kaí), the most common word in the Greek NT is the definite article ("the"). 2532 (kaí) is NEVER ADVERSATIVE (1), i.e. it never means "however" ("but") – unlike the principal conjunction (waw) in OT Hebrew (G. Archer).]

(1) ADVERSATIVE - (of a word or phrase) expressing opposition or antithesis.
Clearly STRONG's makes it EXTREMELY CLEAR that the use of the GREEK word 'KAI' translated into English means; ALSO. It has NO meaning that creates a SEPARATION or ANTITHESIS (2) in the subjects of the sentence. Considering so many people who SPIN these verses, and others, to mean a SEPARATION, are VERY EDUCATED and KNOWLEDGABLE people, the only explanation left is to say they are being DISHONEST when they teach that this word creates an ANTITHESIS between the subjects of the sentence. The only reason I can think of for them to do this is to SHAPE the Bible to fit their own CHURCH or DENOMINATIONAL DOCTRINE.

As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest (TWIST or PERVERT), as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.
2 PETER 3:16

(2) ANTITHESIS - a person or thing that is the direct OPPOSITE of SOMEONE or something ELSE.

IF WE ARE HONEST WE HAVE TO INTERPRET THESE VERSES AS FOLLOWS:

James, a servant of GOD EVEN, MOREOVER, OR INDEED the LORD JESUS CHRIST, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad, greeting.
JAMES 1:1
Go ye therefore, AND (3) teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, EVEN, MOREOVER, OR INDEED the Son, EVEN, MOREOVER, OR INDEED the Holy Ghost:
MATTHEW 28:19

Interpreted correctly, these verses CLEARLY state that Jesus IS the FATHER, the SON and the HOLY GHOST as other scriptures CLEARLY DENOTE.

(3) The Greek word KAI is NOT USED when Jesus tells His disciples to go into all the world, AND teach all nations. This word, AND, was added by the translators and does NOT appear in the Received Text Greek. The Received Text actually says,"HAVING GONE INTO ALL THE WORLD, DISCIPLE ALL THE NATIONS...."

WHAT A DIFFERENCE ONE WORD MAKES WHEN IT IS INTERPRETED INCORRECTLY AND NOT SCRUTINIZED WITH THE REST OF SCRIPTURE and the under the direction of the SPIRIT of TRUTH who IS THE HOLY GHOST.
