The Same Spirit

John 14:16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; 17Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for HE DWELLETH WITH YOU, and shall be in you.

     While Jesus was in the world with His disciples they had total access to the Holy Spirit. Any question they had was answered right there on the spot because the Spirit of Jesus IS the Holy Spirit. Jesus told them in this scripture that the same Comforter which is the Spirit of Truth and the Holy Spirit that was WITH them at that time would be IN them. Clearly stating that the Comforter could NOT come to them to be IN them as long as Jesus was on earth. This is because the Holy or morally perfect Spirit (who is God: John 4) cannot tolerate the presence of things that offend such as sinful men. The body of Jesus was pure and undefiled because He was born of the HOLY SPIRIT and not of sinful man.

Luke 1:35 And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that HOLY THING which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.

The flesh body of Jesus was created by God Himself who is the Holy Spirit that created the world and everything in it. The same one that hovered over the waters in Genesis and then spoke. The same one that made Adam from the dust of the ground. He created flesh that could speak to flesh through the body of Jesus, the Son of God. The Spirit in this flesh IS the Holy Spirit. God according to Jesus words in John 4;

Verse  24God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

     In order for the Holy Spirit (who is the comforter and the Spirit of Truth) to live in the flesh of a man, that flesh must be purified and sanctified. The only way for this to happen is for a sacrifice to be offered that can pay or redeem sinful flesh from the punishment of sin. Therefore, as Jesus was teaching His disciples, He must die and be raised on the third day for the remission of sins. This is why He had to leave so that another comforter could come to them and live IN THEM.
     What does this have to do with us today? Well, after repenting from serving our own will and making the decision to serve the will of God, we will receive the earnest of the Spirit which is the Spirit of God's Son Jesus.

Galatians 4:6 And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son (the HOLY SPIRIT) into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.

     Now we have access to the Spirit of Jesus just like the disciples had except that He now lives IN US as opposed to just WITH us. Any question we have, any direction we need, any power we need to pray for others is immediately available to us through His Spirit, the Holy Spirit who now lives in us. Praise God Almighty.
     The next time you are reading the gospels, pay special attention to what the Holy Spirit in Jesus taught the disciples while He was WITH them. The same one that was WITH them is now IN you and He will give you counsel for whatever you face.

Isaiah 9:66For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counseller, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
