Can We Be Like God?

CAN WE BE LIKE GOD?

1 Corinthians 6:9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived :neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate (transvestites), nor abusers of themselves with mankind (drugs, cigarettes,booze etc.),10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.11 And such WERE some of you: but ye are washed , but ye are sanctified , but YE ARE JUSTIFIED in the name of the Lord Jesus, and BY THE SPIRIT of our God.

JUSTIFICATION:  

Many of us can be credited with having done the things Paul writes to the Corinthians about in our FORMER lifestyles. Notice, however, who is given credit for changing us. Paul says we ARE JUSTIFIED in the NAME of the LORD JESUS and BY THE SPIRIT OF OUR GOD. We cannot take credit for who we are now or for our justification regardless of church affiliation, our works or our knowledge. The credit must ALWAYS go to Jesus for ANYTHING good in our life because we are incapable of being LIKE GOD.

This was the lie that was told to Adam and Eve in the garden by the serpent (Satan), that we can be LIKE GOD. My friends, we will NEVER be LIKE GOD. God stands as one of a kind. He is the only one that is truly HOLY. Jesus was God in the flesh and demonstrated who He is by His works. Works that no other man could possibly compete with.

DON'T OFFEND GOD:

Without Christ, those who have not repented from their OWN WORKS will not inherit the kingdom of God because nothing that offends God will be allowed in His Kingdom. (Revelation 21:27 And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life.) Many unborn people believe that their good works will be weighed against their bad works and that it is possible that the good works will cancel out the bad works which will allow them entrance into heaven but this is simply not true. I used to read the bible every night before I was saved thinking this very thing. In fact, I read the bible from the first page to the last page many times before I was born again but didn't know the first thing about God. You see, I was doing a good work in the hope that it would be enough to convince God to let me into heaven.

NEW PARADIGM:

But we must repent from that sort of thinking. We must change our minds about our justification and realize that the devil lied in the garden. We can never be LIKE GOD so we must change our thinking to accept the works of God Himself in the flesh, JESUS who came to receive the penalty of death in our place as a payment for the curse that Adam and Eve imposed on us all by their actions in the garden. We are all born of corrupt seed and are in need of a perfect sacrifice to answer the cry of justice against the original sin. Once we have come to this realization that we need deliverance, we will look for a savior. That savior is Jesus Christ. If we repent from the original lie that we can be LIKE GOD and accept the fact that the only one who is capable of justifying us is God in the flesh, JESUS CHRIST, we then receive the right to become children of God (John 1:12) through adoption in the name of Jesus Christ. His sacrifice will then become REAL to us and He will come into our flesh by His Holy Spirit and change us so that we will be profitable over comers.

I pray if you have not made that decision yet, you will do it today. Call on the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of your sins and ask Him for His Holy Spirit and He will change you and give you peace with Him that you have never known before.
